Black History Month is almost over. But, that does not mean that you should stop educating yourself, or making a conscious effort to dive into Black art, history, music, books, podcasts and more. It seems as though BHM has come to the forefront in the past few years and taken a leap into mainstream media. Snapchat has featured BHM filters, Lyft is offering free rides to black history museums and more, even stores as big as Target have produced clothing that celebrates BHM. Whatever way you choose to celebrate our Black heroes make sure you do so with pride. I chose to honor some of my favorite writers and leaders by compiling a short list of my favorite quotes from them!
While some of the names may be a little lesser known, their messages are powerful! They are timeless, and speak to not only our ancestors but can be applied and used as motivation for today.
