Natural Hair Journey Update (14 MONTHS)

I officially made it over a year as a naturalista. It has been a very interesting and sometimes tumultuous time. Since my last update, I have switched some products out and also changed my regimen. So I’ll take it from the top the most dreaded yet fulfilling day, wash day.

My wash day routine has change due to my hair getting longer and somewhat changing curl patterns. So I have begun to use different products.

Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus is still my go to shampoo. It has a great scent and leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean while bringing out my curls. I have begun to use Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque as a deep conditioner because my hair is now color treated. This masque helps to decrease breakage and restore the shine in the hair.

One new product I have added to my regimen is Miss Jessie’s Quick Curls. This curl cream is a great moisturizer and holds the curls in very well. I also love the Carol’s Daughter Leave In Black Vanilla Conditioner. It has a great floral smell and gives curls a bounce. Lastly I am still using the OGX Argon Oil. It is a great way to lightly keep the scalp moist. With summer coming up it is important to not let the hair get too  dry in the summer heat!

I am truly happy with the progress my hair has made and looking forward to the progress to come!
